Digicel Kickstart Programme
Digicel, in collaboration with Manchester City Football Club, has launched the 2016 Kickstart grassroots football programme.
For the past eight years, the Digicel Kickstart programme has enabled thousands of players across the Caribbean and Central America tp benefit from world class training by coaches from top football organisations. The partnership with Manchester City FC, which sees coaches from the City Football Schools Programme travelling to the region to deliver these intensive training courses as part of the Digicel Kickstart clinics, is another step towards ensuring that aspiring young players have an opportunity to take their game to the next level, as they benefit from the Club’s expansive footballing expertise.
The 2016 Digicel Kick Start Clinics, will involve two coaches from Manchester City FC training the top 30 boys from each of the 14 Digicel markets across the Caribbean and Central America including: Jamaica, Haiti, St Kitts and Nevis, Anguilla, Antigua, Suriname, El Salvador, Turks and Caicos, Trinidad, Grenada, St Vincent & the Grenadines, St. Lucia, Barbados and Dominica.
A two-day clinic will be held in each market and at the end of each clinic, three boys will be selected to attend the Digicel Academy, scheduled for the end of May, in Jamaica.
Players who attend the Digicel Academy will also have the opportunity to impress coaches and possibly be selected for the Manchester City Experience where they will train at the Manchester City FC Campus in England.
